High-quality living in the smallest of spaces

The first microapartments in Wiesental in Herisau were occupied in mid-February 2021. Micro-living means maximum living comfort using the minimum amount of space. The architects from Waldburger + Partner launched and designed the pilot project in accordance with the Minergie-P standard. As general contractor, Blumer Lehmann realised the modular timber building with nine apartments and a large roof terrace for communal use.

Production of the 18 timber modules in our factory took 10 weeks. The finished studios consist of two modules with a total area of 47 m2 and are equipped with a kitchen, a bathroom incl. washing machine/tumble dryer and an 8 m2 balcony. The high proportion of timber in the building ensures a homely feel inside and a very good carbon footprint overall. The building’s facade was designed in cooperation with the monument preservation authorities and with consideration for the townscape.
