Laminated timber for load-bearing timber constructions

Laminated timber/glulam made from Swiss wood is suitable for load-bearing constructions thanks to its high bearing capacity and low net weight.

Laminated timber consists of several kiln-dried wooden strips that have been laminated together. Beams made of laminated timber – also known as laminated beams – are therefore dimensionally stable and strong. Their low net weight allows for large spans and a variety of constructions. This makes laminated timber suitable for industrial, commercial and residential buildings, as well as sophisticated timber engineering constructions.

In the laminating facility at Blumer Lehmann’s headquarters in Gossau, laminated timber products are made from Swiss wood in various dimensions and lengths. Thanks to our on-site production, our range of laminated beams is always readily available and in stock in high quality.

Laminated beams made from different types of wood

We produce laminated timber from spruce and fir as standard. Are you planning a project that needs to be particularly durable, have a specific look or feature a special design? Contact us. We also process larch and Douglas fir on request.

Standard dimensions and special formats

Our laminated timber is available in numerous standard dimensions as well as in special formats. For individual construction projects, we produce laminated timber on a project-by-project basis in accordance with the timber list, including with special cross sections.

The benefits of laminated timber/glulam
