What we offer and the benefits for you
We have a lot in store
More than standard: our benefits go further
At Blumer Lehmann, you don’t just benefit from the usual perks. You also benefit from extensive services. We support you in many areas of your life, whether through flexible working models, additional health and pension benefits or genuine development prospects. Because our focus is on people – professionally, personally and holistically.
Working models, part-time and overtime
Wherever the role and duties allow, we make it possible to work from home and work part-time. Want to take time off in lieu of overtime and extend your holiday? Of course you can – in consultation with your line manager and the HR department.
Expenses and allowances
Many different expenses, one clear principle: necessary and appropriate expenses incurred by employees in the course of their personal work are covered by the company.
Paternity and maternity
New parents enjoy statutory maternity and paternity leave. Flexible working hours are also part of our commitment to helping you balance your family and career – always in the best interests of the team and our customers, of course.
Service anniversary gift
As a token of our appreciation for your loyalty, on every five-year anniversary we give you a bonus in the form of vouchers, money or additional annual leave days.
Military service
Are you completing an apprenticeship with us and about to do military service? We offer you continued payment of 70% or 80% of your salary during recruit training (depending on the length of your service) and guarantee continued employment following successful completion.
First-hand information
We’ll keep you up to date – both online and offline. The information on the employee app keeps you up to date on a daily basis. At least once a year, you’ll also receive live updates on news and developments in your area and our company in the employee information section.
Social media
Like, share, post, comment... it’s great when you support our posts on social networks or talk about our exciting projects and topics. As an ambassador, you are an important part of our community. That’s why netiquette is so important – be polite, fair and honest.
Work infrastructure
With us, you will work with state-of-the-art tools, IT devices and in workspaces with first-class equipment. Our modern work infrastructure is designed so you can work productively, comfortably and efficiently.
Work equipment
We’ll equip you with the latest technological devices and software solutions as well as high-performance systems, machines and tools. Our advanced planning, production, assembly, logistics, maintenance and office tools form the basis for innovative work and creative solutions.
Mobile phone
Depending on your role and responsibilities, a company mobile phone may be part of your work equipment. Use it in your personal life too and receive compensation for your mobile subscription – transferred directly and easily with your salary.
Work clothing
Before you start working with us, we’ll provide you with suitable work and safety clothing. For future needs, you will receive a regular budget for your purchases in our online clothing shop.
Mobility
It’s easy to book a company car to get to customers or for other business trips. Depending on your role and position, you may be entitled to your own company car. Our partners will also offer you special rates for the purchase, servicing or repair of your private vehicle. For a small fee per kilometre, our fleet of vehicles is also available to you to use in your free time.
‘Stammlokal’ staff restaurant
We make sure you have everything you need. In our staff restaurant at Erlenhof and in the canteens of other company locations, you can enjoy healthy meals, snacks and drinks at discounted prices and ‘an apple a day’ for free.
Free tickets, discounts and sponsorship
We also support your interests outside of work – such as your involvement in a club or charity raffle. In addition, we sponsor cultural, social and sporting initiatives in our region and pass on the benefits of these partnerships to our employees in the form of free tickets or discounts. Stay up to date via our internal app, where we will inform you about current offers.
Special conditions for purchase
Benefit from special discounts when purchasing sportswear, bicycles, tools, machinery and materials, as well as when using our transport vehicles and workshop.
Individual employee development
At your appraisal meeting, you and your manager will plan how you can further develop your professional and social skills. Whether through our internal Academy training programme or external courses tailored precisely to your needs – we’ll support you on your career path.
Onboarding
We want to make your start at Blumer Lehmann as easy as possible. To do this, we will familiarise you with the work and communication tools on your very first day. We’ll also give you the opportunity to make your first contacts. At the annual welcome afternoon, you will deepen your knowledge of our products, processes and values.
We Are Blumer Lehmann Day
On We Are Blumer Lehmann Day, the entire team receives training on important topics such as occupational safety, fire safety and health. Specialist topics are covered in departmental training courses. The accompanying summer party fosters community too.
Future Day
On Girls’ Day in Germany and National Future Day for Girls and Boys in Switzerland, children get a taste of the world of work. Both initiatives aim to enable girls and boys to choose their future careers as freely as possible, without gender stereotypes. For one day, they can shadow their caregiver at work, visit the factory and even do some planing, filing and glueing on a small project themselves.
Obligation for external training
We provide financial support for your training. Our model is based on commitment periods of 1 to 3 years, depending on the programme. This allows us to work together to create the best foundation for your professional development.
Occupational safety
We make sure that you work in an environment where protective measures and safety guidelines are not only observed, but also practised. This is achieved through regular training and updates to our safety procedures. We minimise risks and ensure that you can focus fully on your tasks.
Support in the event of problems
We know that challenges are part of working life. That’s why we offer you a listening ear and practical support when things get tough. We look for individual solutions and are committed to working together to overcome personal, operational, financial or health problems.
Personal integrity in the workplace
We are consistently committed to a culture of respect and personal boundaries in order to prevent bullying and sexual harassment. Employees in the HR department are available as points of contact and advice to provide information and answer questions, as well as for support and guidance in stressful situations. Those affected can also submit a written complaint to a Complaints Committee and request an investigation.
Accident insurance
In accordance with the Federal Accident Insurance Act (Bundesgesetz über die Unfallversicherung UVG), you are insured against the consequences of occupational accidents, non-occupational accidents and occupational illnesses. This gives you the assurance that you will be well looked after in the event of an accident at work or an occupational illness.
Daily allowance insurance
Group daily allowance insurance offers financial security in the event of loss of earnings due to illness through no fault of your own. The premium for daily allowance insurance is shared equally between us as the employer and you as the employee.
Occupational pension
Old age and survivors’ insurance/invalidity insurance: Old age and survivors’ insurance/invalidity insurance is mandatory in Switzerland and covers the period when you no longer receive a monthly salary.
Pension fund
As a key component of occupational pension provision, the pension fund ensures that you can build on a solid financial foundation when you retire.
Maternity insurance
Maternity leave lasts 98 days, i.e. 14 weeks. Maternity allowance amounts to 80% of salary, up to a maximum of CHF 220 per day.
First-name culture
We work together as equals and treat each other warmly on first-name terms from day one.
After-work drinks
Regular after-work drinks are a long-standing tradition at our company and promote team spirit. After all, successes and togetherness need to be celebrated.
Summer party
Every summer, all employees come together at Erlenhof to take part in useful safety training and departmental workshops – and to celebrate in style. With a bar and music, a barbecue and plenty of socialising.
Skiing and hiking weekend
Every year, there are funny stories about the slopes and après-ski from our ski weekend. In summer, we also regularly head to the mountains, where you can find out what connects you and your colleagues outside of work while hiking.
Family Day
On Family Day, you can show your loved ones where you work and who you work with. We regularly open our doors for a Family Day that brings people together and provides insights – at Erlenhof or in the buildings we have constructed.
Team spirit
On team outings, you can learn new things about our partners and customers, visit one of our construction sites and even get cooking together. This helps us get along better in our everyday working lives.
