Life and living in Lymhof

The five- to seven-storey buildings will contain 1.5- to 5.5-room apartments for individuals, families and couples, maisonettes with a shared roof garden, residential studios with 1.5- to 3.5 rooms, apartments suitable for elderly residents and apartments for flat shares. Lymhof is SNBS Platinum-certified and features an energy-efficient design.

The project will be implemented primarily as a timber construction. The facades will be completed on site and the flat roofs will be planted with greenery. A total of 21,585 m² of the apartments in the district will have a timber frame structure. Blumer Lehmann is managing the consortium responsible for manufacturing the external timber wall elements and the projecting balconies built in timber. Blumer Lehmann also planned and installed the timber ceilings and the timber frame supporting structures, which were processed, pre-assembled and treated externally in collaboration with Schäfer Holzbautechnik AG, Alpiger Holzbau AG and Kaufmann Oberholzer AG. Columns and beams in laminated spruce timber (glulam) form the supporting framework. The ceilings are made of horizontal glulam beams.
