From the mountain top to Luxembourg: a temporary structure finds its purpose

The journey of a modular timber structure demonstrates how circular construction works: built in an environmentally friendly way, relocated several times and used for three completely different purposes over a period of ten years.

2014 – 2019: Mountain Restaurant, Switzerland

In 2014, a temporary mountain restaurant was built on the Chäserugg using modular timber elements – sustainable, fully demountable and transportable by cable car. An early example of circular construction.

2019 – 2024: Architecture Office, Luxembourg

The modules were rebuilt in Moutfort within a single day and reused as offices for FAT architects S.à r.l.

From 2024: Residential House, Esch-sur-Sûre

Since 2024, the building has been used as an extension of a residential home, demonstrating the long-term flexibility of modular timber construction.
