Modern company campus with ‘Skyway’

Blumer Lehmann is the general contractor for Intamin Amusement Rides’ new offices. The new construction comprises two concrete underground car parks and two timber office buildings, each with three storeys and with a stairwell in the middle.

An existing office building is being extended to include the new office unit built in timber. With additional offices, around 80 workstations, meeting rooms and a cafeteria with a terrace, the new construction will expand the existing company headquarters and turn it into a modern company campus. The client is Intamin Amusement Rides, based in Schaan, Liechtenstein, the technological market leader for amusement park rides and monorail transport systems. The new and existing buildings will be connected by means of a glazed, suspended timber walkway called the ‘Skyway’. The interiors are clad with acoustic panels made from three-ply timber. Three-ply panels and CLT were also used for the walls.

The new office buildings are equipped with a groundwater heat pump for heating and cooling, which also supplies the existing building. The roofs are fitted with solar collectors, which are designed to generate most of the electricity required by all buildings, including the charging stations for the company’s own e-mobility fleet.

Facade design: The facade consists of vertically designed, open facade formwork made from pre-greyed, rough-cut spruce produced by timber industry Blumer Lehmann.

The extensive use of wood in the form of CLT and three-ply panels gives the office spaces a pleasant indoor climate.
