Joint construction project for administration and bus depot

The lack of space in the existing bus depot and the desired urban compaction in the Herisau railway station area led to the joint construction project between Regiobus and Appenzeller Bahnen. Blumer Lehmann was commissioned as general contractor for the construction.

At the previous Regiobus depot location in Herisau, a new building is being built as a Regiobus depot and administrative building for Appenzeller Bahnen. The five-storey building also offers rental space for service companies.

Blumer Lehmann is executing the building as a timber construction based on plans drawn up by K&L Architekten. The drive-in structure of the garage at basement level is positioned in a way that allows for extension of the garage if the need arises. A photovoltaic system on the roof provides the requisite energy for the building.
