Sustainable ‘Baggiwood’ office and residential building

The Baggenstos company is replacing its former industrial building with a new structure. CH Architekten AG designed the innovative building and Blumer Lehmann is creating it as a timber structure.

In the heart of Wallisellen, ‘Baggiwood’ offers attractive living and commercial space over four floors. The ground floor of the eco-friendly commercial building is home to a generously proportioned commercial space for a range of uses including, for example, office space for hire.

The first, second and third floors are for sustainable living. The three storeys have been designed with 24 apartments with either 2.5 or 3.5 rooms and a living space of 50 m2 to almost 78 m2. The ceilings in the apartments have been designed with exposed spruce wood. The floors of the pergola, arcade and entrance area are made with larch-wood decking.

The residents can obtain electricity from the photovoltaic system on their own roof, at attractive rates, while an ice-storage heat pump regulates the interior temperature all year round.
