Modular and prefabricated construction – the flexible solution for the cantonal school’s temporary classrooms

The temporary school building in Baden was intended to meet a short-term requirement for more space. The temporary structure was designed for a period of use of 5 to 8 years to provide sufficient time to plan and deliver new site solutions. The occupier imposed the same requirements as a permanent building in terms of indoor climate, structural engineering, acoustics and energy efficiency. The basic building block is a prefabricated room cell with a floor area of 31.5 m2 (3.50 m -10.50 m). The room cells are connected using a demountable assembly system to ensure easy removal and re-usability of the modules.
