After successfully completing his apprenticeship, Täschler is now battling for the title of Swiss champion carpenter.

With a grade of 5.1, the second-best performance in the canton of St. Gallen, Johannes Täschler completed his carpentry apprenticeship (Federal VET Diploma EFZ) at Blumer Lehmann in summer 2021. He is now training for the SwissSkills vocational championships. ‘I enjoy working with wood as a building material and sawing it by hand, as well as working very precisely and quickly,’ says the young professional, explaining his motivation for taking part in SwissSkills. In the process, he is also learning many new skills that go beyond the expertise from his apprenticeship and are very complex and challenging, says Johannes Täschler. For his training, he can count on generous support from his work as well as friends and family. ‘I get the materials I need to prepare and a lot of time to practise.’

As an employer and former apprenticeship company, we are proud of our successful expert worker and wish him every success for his participation in the SwissSkills Championships.

«‘I want to achieve a lot, but of course the Swiss championship title is hard-fought. However, with all the new knowledge I am gaining, I will definitely benefit from participating. And the SwissSkills experience also looks good on my CV.’»
